Walk into most beauty salons and the first thing that happens is a quick chat about your skin. It is useful, but it is also subjective, rushed, and impossible to track over time. We wanted to do better, so we built something no salon in our area, and very few in the UK, currently offers: a free AI skin analysis you can do from your phone in about 30 seconds.
We call the result your Glow Score. Here is what it is, how it works, and why we made it.
What is the Avera Glow Score?
It is a free online tool. You upload a selfie, answer three quick questions, and our AI reads your skin across five dimensions: hydration, clarity, texture, radiance and the eye area. You get back a personalised report with a score, your skin type, a morning and evening skincare routine, the three things most worth knowing about your skin right now, and the treatments best matched to what it found.

How does it work?
When you upload your photo, it is sent securely to an AI model trained to assess skin in a cosmetic, non-medical way. It looks at what is actually visible in the image, combines that with the few things you tell it (your age range, how your skin feels, your main concern), and produces a friendly, personalised report.
The whole thing takes about half a minute. There is no app to download and no account to create.
Your photo is never stored
This was non-negotiable for us. Your photo is analysed in the moment and is never stored, saved or shared. It exists only for the few seconds the analysis takes. Even the shareable score card is created on your own device, so your image never leaves your phone for that.
For our clients, many of whom value privacy highly and many of whom wear hijab, this mattered enormously. The tool works perfectly whether or not you wear a headscarf, and nothing about your photo is kept.
Is it a medical diagnosis?
No, and we are careful to be clear about this. The Glow Score is cosmetic self-care guidance, a friendly snapshot to help you understand your skin and look after it better. It is not a dermatological or medical assessment. If anything about your skin worries you, please see your GP or a dermatologist.
Why we built it
Three reasons.
First, it genuinely helps. Most people are not sure what their skin actually needs, and a clear, personalised starting point, with a routine and an explanation in plain English, is a real head start.
Second, it points you to the right treatment. If your analysis flags congestion or dullness, it will suggest our Galvanic Facial. If it sees early signs of ageing, it will point you toward the right facial. No guesswork, no upselling, just a match between what your skin needs and what we offer.
Third, we believe modest beauty should be at the front of innovation, not the back. Our clients deserve the same cutting-edge tools as anyone else, designed from the start around their privacy and comfort.
